A Man of Mystery

by Joan
(Trearddur Bay)

Hi Wil

I also remember Washi Bach.

As a child, I used to cut across Canada Gardens in Holyhead to visit my Aunt. I frequently saw him there and was rather afraid of him. Although, to my knowledge, he never did anyone any harm.

He was a man of mystery. I would love to know more about his life and origins.

Joan

Dear Joan

Canada Gardens in Holyhead, eh? Were you going across to Kingsland or coming to London Road

As to his origins, I met someone in Amlwch last year whose father had seen Washi Bach's White Star Liner paybook.

Please scan some of the other kind messages on this page and the comments added and you'll be able to build up a bit of a history for him.

Much remains a mystery but the fact that we wishto remember him warmly is a clear indication that we don't need to know everything about a person to care for him or her.

Thanks for getting in touch and glad to be a means by which you reach into the past.

Warmest regards

Wil

Hi Wil

I firmly believe, Washi Bach was completely harmless.

Maybe the victim of harm in his past.
