North Stack Cannon

by John Williams

Good afternoon,

I've just been looking on the internet following a note that part of Parliament House roof has collapsed and I came upon your site.

For your information there was more than one cannon employed at the fog station and they were discarded in 1919.

One cannon was salvaged by sea scouts but as they sailed it out it sank again. RAF Valley has one and the final one was salvaged by my brother and I in the 80's. I have an album of the recovery if you are interested.

Dear John

I would be delighted to receive some photographs about the salvage of the cannons. There are plenty of people who have visited Anglesey Hidden Gem over the years who have a connection with Holyhead.

So however, you can attach them, maybe to the Manage Images spaces above or another page should work.

Nice to hear from you. Been some serious illness in the family so even though I live on Anglesey I haven't been to inspect the damage to Parliament House roof. That's on the list now that Spring is here - at least for today.

Be well and thank you,

Wil
