Breakfast in Trearddur Bay

Cafe Milano, Valley, Anglesey

Hello Wil

We are coming to Trearddur in September for a weekend and the hotel we are staying in does not do breakfast so we will eating out.

Is there any nice cafe's in the area that you would suggest?

Dear Friend

No breakfast? Strange that.

Anyway, even though Trearddur Bay is extremely popular you'd be surprised how badly served it is with little cafes.

In Trearddur Bay itself, the choice is limited by how much you care to spend during your visit. The Trearddur Bay Hotel is one of the good eateries in the area.

However, I suppose what you require is a good and clean little cafe with excellent food, which serves an all-day breakfast.

When I saw your message I immediately thought of the Cafe Milano in Valley. I took the above picture last Friday, especially for you.

I got caught by the owner, Cheryl and had to explain your message and such. Cheryl's a fine lady who run's a fine, light and airy cafe. I've been here a few times and can't recommend it enough. It's also a bistro.

Like more or less everything around here it opens at 10:00am and serves breakfast. It's honest good food and I gain nothing by speaking well of it other than add to your enjoyment.

However, it is about seven minutes away in Valley in the pleasant arcade of shops behind the obvious large Spar mini-mart.

There s also the Bay Cafe in Trearddur Bay (in the hill down to the beach from Holyhead). I know nothing about this place. Therefore, I cannot shoot it down or recommend it.

There are cafes in Holyhead. Try Dee's Deli on your left at the bottom of the hill leading to the High Street. Clean with good home made food and the occasional Jamaican delight.

Hotel with no breakfast, eh? You're not staying in the Holyhead Travel Lodge are you? If so, maybe I can give you a few more ideas.

Best wishes,

Wil

Dear Caroline

I hope you have a briliant time.

Remember, Dee's Deli is on the hill up to Holyhead High Street (Market Street). It's on your left.

I love the coffee, some bara brith and some gentle reggae going on in the background. It's as pleasant as the Milano in a different way. Do both.

Then in Trearddur Bay you have the Ravenscroft, which is developing a reputation for good food. Good enough to compete with the White Eagle in Rhoscolyn.

Have a fabulous stay,

Wil

Hi Wil

Yes we are staying at the travel lodge as lots of the b&b's were busy on the dates we are coming down, but you have helped us so much.

I cannot wait to come and have a look round and Milano cafe looks great.

Thanks once again. Will let you know how we get on.

Thanks
Caroline
